Small businesses are the heart of our communities! Here at Ruhl&Ruhl, we love to support locals and engage with the areas we serve in any way we can. So, let's help them out and spread the word about their great services!

Below are this month's featured businesses in all of our areas:

Bettendorf/Davenport/Moline: Milltown Coffee Co. is the perfect place to relax with a delicious cup of coffee or meal. They have an extensive food and drink menu that features a hashbrown wrap and adagio hot tea; their friendly staff is always on hand to help you get the right order. You can join their loyalty program to skip the line and earn points towards free drinks and other rewards - how could you pass that up? Gear up for the warm days ahead with their new caffeinated lemonades - it's bound to hit the spot on a hot summer day!

Burlington: Big River Popcorn was founded in 1974 and has been family- owned ever since, beginning in the basement of Robert Moehlman's house in Burlington, Iowa! They feature all of the classic flavors you know and love, along with some truly unique ones like caramel apple, bacon cheddar, strawberry banana, root beer float, cinnamon, and so much more. Snag a 4-flavor bundle pack if you can't choose just one! But they don't just sell popcorn—they also have a nice selection of cotton candy that is sure to please everyone. They also provide fundraising opportunities with up to 40% return profit off of total sales, and they ship to all 50 states. Undoubtedly, this location is a staple in Downtown Burlington!

Cedar Rapids: Next Page Books is a locally owned, independent bookstore located in the historic New Bohemia district. They offer the newest best-sellers and award winners with a large assortment of fiction, non-fiction, young adult, and children's books in a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Their staff is dedicated to assisting you in locating the book you're looking for. Don't worry if the book you desire isn't in stock—they can do a special order and get it to you in two to five days! Visit their Facebook page to make sure you don't miss out on exclusive promotions, readings, and presentations. Soon to host a book club? They might even be able to provide you with a fantastic deal!

Clinton/DeWitt: At The Crossroads of DeWitt Inspired Living, you will find gifts that inspire and bring beauty to your home and workplace! They have a great selection of specialty books, decor, artisan gifts for men, women, and babies, hostess gifts, gift cards, and more. One of their customers described their shopping experience as "tremendously relaxing" and their new "go-to" source for finding that perfect gift, no matter the occasion. It makes sense why they were a 2014 and 2017 DeWitt "Business of the Year" nominee! When it comes to your next gift-giving needs, you surely won't regret visiting this store.

Dubuque/Iowa City: Backpocket Brewing is here to prove that Iowa is more than just a flyover state - it's a craft beer destination! They have all of the brews, from classic lagers and seasonal favorites to sours, bretts, and saison beers. For all the cyclone fans, Backpocket Brewing introduced the first officially licensed craft beer for Iowa State University called Clone Fest Festbier! Be sure to follow their Facebook page so you don't miss out on their fun events going on.

Muscatine: Meows and Barks Pet Supply is an independently owned pet supply company that welcomes all pet owners to browse their vast selection of pet food, toys, collars, leashes, beds, and more. They also provide supplies for birds, chinchillas, hamsters, reptiles, and other tiny animals, such as live crickets and worms for animals that eat them. You are sure to find a little love here for all your animals! Check out their Facebook page to see all the new goods coming in each week.
