October is here! We don't know about you, but we can smell the spiced apples and pumpkins already! No matter where you are in the eastern Iowa area, there are plenty of patches and orchards to stock up on farm-fresh apples and pumpkins. Depending on where you go, you can pick up renowned local fall specialties as well: pumpkin spice donuts, fresh apple cider, apple butter, and so much more! It's a great seasonal way to spend time with loved ones and to get outside for some fresh air before the cool weather starts to set in. Hope to see you out there!
Appleberry Orchard: All your favorite fall squash, ripe for the picking! In addition to an apple orchard and a petting zoo housed in their historic barn. Satisfy that sweet tooth with made-from-scratch pies, breads, and something they call the "Queens Apple."
Harvestville Farms Moonlight Maze: 35 acres of pumpkins, squash and gourds all September and October! Corn mazes, wagon rides, and their own Pitchfork Cafe. Serving up delicious local pastries and dishes through the end of October. Don't miss out!

Bart's Farm and Pumpkin Patch: Corn mazes, petting barn, and gourds! Stop by this family-owned farm for a good old fall celebration.
Bloomsbury Farm: If you think you've experienced all there is to experience at a pumpkin patch, then you haven't been to Bloomsbury farms. Beginning October 1st, their harvest festival features apple blasters, gemstone mining, beer gardens, pig races, barrel train rides, and, of course, pumpkin picking.
Big Apple Orchard: Come pick your favorite apple apples from the 20+ varieties grown at Big Apple Orchard. Take a break from city life in the scenic orchards and treat yourself to cozy fall baked goods and donuts.

Indian Hills Orchard: With Fall Fest starting October 2nd there's no better time to swing by for fresh apples, gourds, and other products sold from their apple barn. Check out their webpage to see which days have pick-yourself apple picking days.
Sherman's Pumpkin Farm and Corn Maze: In both Dubuque & Manchester, IA, Sherman's Pumpkin Farm, and Corn Maze has pumpkins, gourds, squash and Indian corn to suit your fall fancy.
Dittmar Farms & Orchard: Operating since 1854, Dittmar Farms & Orchard is an absolute classic. This year swing by for some pre-picked apples, pumpkins and a variety of donuts flavors at the Orchard Station.
Orchard and Landing Apple Farm: An adorable orchard, Orchard Landing is open Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 - 4:00. They have 12 apple varieties, honey, maple syrup, jellies, pumpkins, and, of course, apple cider donuts!

Wilson Orchard: For a more grown-up apple orchard experience, why not give Wilson's Orchard a go? With frozen baked goods perfect to bring back home for that perfect afternoon treat, Hard ciders, and a smokehouse with! And of course, you can still have your apple picking, both pre-picked and self-picked.
Allens Orchard: Allen's Orchard is a classic Apple orchard experience. Open 7 days a week, you don't have to rework your schedule to get in on all the apple goodness. U-pick Apples, pre-picked apples, pears, concord grapes, pies, turnovers, crisps, fresh apple cider, and Allen's famous donuts all available at Allen's Store.
Sass Family Farm: With over 14 apple varieties and 2 pear varieties, it's hard to pass up the Sass Family Farm. After pumpkin picking, let the kids play on the playgroup while you peruse the antique market for the unique find.
Colony Pumpkin Patch: Colony Pumpkin Patch is a "little country...in the city!" Their Pumpkin Patch Harvest is already in full swing! Including antique tractors, human hamster wheels, a 10-acre corn maze and so much more! Normal corn maze too easy for you? Kroul Farms: A local favorite, Kroul farms has been providing families with fall decorations for over 20 years. Choose from all kinds of pumpkins, squash, and Indian corn to bring the spirit of fall into your home.

Buffalo Pumpkin Farm: A classic farm experience, Buffalo Pumpkin Farm. With pony rides, goat milking, a kid's fun train, local food trucks on the weekends, and so much more, this is a wonderful QC favorite.
Pride of Wapsi Pumpkin Patch & Corn Maze: Pumpkin Patch & Corn Maze Season begins October 2nd! With something new to do everywhere you look, you'll be able to make an entire day of it. Or, you can just stop by for some pumpkins and delicious treats. Either way, you'll leave absolutely charmed by the Pride of Wapsi's fall spirit.
Shady Knoll Farm: Shady Knoll Farm is a family-owned farm that focuses on healthy and clean produce. With over 90 varieties of pumpkins, gourds, and squash, you'll have a hard time picking one to bring home. Come feed the goats and sheep and see all the other kinds of farm animals. Maybe you'll see some of the baby calves that are due this fall! U-pick flowers will also be available until the frost hits, bringing home a bouquet of fresh flowers for someone special.
